Accessibility Statement

This website has been built to be as accessible to as many people as possible. It uses semantic xhtml and stylesheets for visual layout.

The pages within this website should comply with the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines for level 1 and should validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

The site uses relative font sizes, allowing the User to override any font settings in the browser. How to do this depends on the browser you are using:

  • If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to the View menu, select Text Size and then either Larger or Largest.
  • If you use Firefox, go to the View menu, select Text Size and then either Increase Ctrl + +, Decrease Ctrl + - or Normal Ctrl + 0.
  • If you use Opera, go to the Tools menu, select Preferences then click on the Web pages tab. Select the normal font button. A dialogue box appears and provides options to increase/decrease font size, font type, weight and style.
  • If you use Netscape Navigator, go to the View menu and choose Increase Font until the text is the size you require.

At the top of each page there is a link to “Jump to main content” which bypasses information in the header.

The site uses one accesskey (2) which takes you to the main content.

Any browsing devices that do not support stylesheets should still be able to read the content in a meaningful way. The website also makes use of a print.css file which allows pages on the website to be easily printed.
